Celebration Sunday: September 14 Bp. Felix Malpica
On Sunday, September 14, Bishop Felix of our La Crosse Area Synod will join us to lead a special worship service celebrating the ministries of Our Redeemer over the years and looking forward to future ministries. Following worship, we’ll have a special potluck, complete with a pig roast.
Community Concert
On Friday, August 8, we’ll welcome local singer/songwriter John Smith and friends to Our Redeemer. We’ll hope for good weather, so we can do an outdoor concert on the lawn. This is a chance to invite friends, family, and neighbors around Our Redeemer to join us in our celebration.
If you’re not familiar with John Smith’s music, check out his website to hear a bit of it: https://johnsmithmusic.com/
Community Service Project:
Our Redeemer Community Garden!
“Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6)
Are you interested in lending your hands (green thumbs are optional) to God’s work of growing a Community Garden here at Our Redeemer?
Perhaps a raised bed garden in part of our front yard will help our congregation be more visible in our neighborhood – as we work outside the building to prepare, plant, water, weed, and harvest the produce that “God makes grow.”
Better still, this may be a way for us to build relationships with our neighbors – engaging them in conversation as we work, and even inviting them (including children!) to join us in this work of God.
Produce can be shared with our neighbors nearby, as well as with other neighbors in need through WAFER. (Yes, WAFER will take fresh produce!)
As a new ministry of the congregation, we need the participation of many members and friends of all ages and gardening abilities. Think about how you would like to participate!
Let us know your interest! Neighbors and Friends - let us know of your interest, too!
